Client case:

For a large firm we designed a small, digital experiment to quickly create results. Our goal was simple, we’d apply our artificial intelligence to detect, measure and understand their relationships. Then we’d cross-reference them with their CRM-system. We expected that approximately 80% of their client relationships are be documented. Results were slightly different:

 

In our experiment, we discovered that only approx. 15% of actual relationships end up in the CRM. For every B2B client we see as many as 90% of relationships not being tracked and up to 20% of all recorded relationships are dead. In one case, we detected an entry of a former client CEO which left the firm 8 years ago, but was still a data point in their system.

What does this mean? Frankly if relationships are key to drive business and your data is stale, you are losing out on revenue, are inefficient at sales and are failing to provide great client coverage. It explains all the complaints about your CRM not being very usable since you’ve been focusing on the wrong thing: maintaining CRM data instead of understanding & developing strong relationships.
